Afterschool Fun in the Sun at Parkway Carnival

After a long, hard day of schoolwork, kids just wanna have fun! And fun they did have at an Afterschool Kids Carnival Fun day, held on Rockaway Parkway and Glenwood Road, near the “L” train, on Wednesday, May 24th.
The event, which was sponsored by the Rockaway Parkway Merchants Corridor Association Inc. (RPMA), had music, snacks and lots of fun activities like sidewalk chalk, hula hoop, hopscotch and Double Dutch. Kids and adults were entertained by jugglers and a team of acrobats. Youngsters got to unwind and tap into their creative side, and some even got to try some acrobatic tricks with a little assistance by the Circus Art team. All in all, everyone had a fun-filled, exciting afternoon!
One of RPMA’s missions is to encourage commercial district activity and advocate for a better quality of life along Canarsie’s commercial corridors. Mission accomplished!
